Yes it is possible and at Exotik Mayan Tours we explain why. Most of the tourists who decide to travel to the Riviera Maya do so because they are interested in learning more about the ancient Mayan civilization that left such a mark on this part of Mexico.
It is true, as we explained in the section on cultural excursions, that the offer to visit the ancient Mayan cities is very wide, but… what about the fun part?
At Exotik Mayan Tours we believe that adventure activities are essential to create an unforgettable day among tourists who take excursions to Riviera Maya and most of them are experiences that you will live very few times in your life.
For the more adventurous, we have devised the “Exotik” tours, where we combine the visit to the Mayan ruins of Tulum and Coba, respectively, with adventure activities such as zip-lining or rappel.
In the case of the Tulum Exotik excursion, we offer our clients the possibility of spending a more than complete day starting with a visit to the Mayan ruins of the archaeological zone of Tulum and, after this, take a swim in one of the most important paradisiacal beaches in the world: Playa Paraiso.
After this, it’s time to bring out our more adventurous side to go deep into the jungle and cross one of the most beautiful cenotes of the Riviera Maya on a zip line. Undoubtedly an exciting experience if ever there was one!
Feeling like Indiana Jones in the middle of the Mexican jungle is priceless! But as if that were not enough, once the zip line experience is over, it’s time to relax by taking a canoe ride contemplating the abundant nature that surrounds us.
Akumal offers the option of swimming with turtles and at Exotik Mayan Tours we combine this activity with a visit to the ruins of Tulum and Coba, without a doubt a full day of adventure and culture.
Being able to swim a few meters away from huge turtles in their natural habitat is a unique and unrepeatable experience… and if we combine it with cultural visits, we have the perfect day!
But for those who want to go beyond the adventure in cenotes, the excursion to Sian Kaan offers adventure and nature, in its purest form!
The day begins with an exciting jeep tour through the jungle, followed by a fun boat ride through the mangroves where, if we are lucky, we can enjoy seeing dolphins, manatees and sea turtles in their natural habitat.
Undoubtedly an adventurous excursion that will make Punta Allen, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1986 and where the Sian Kaan Reserve is located, become one of our favorite places to visit in the Riviera Maya.
And as if that were not enough, the adventurous “excursion” for the bravest: swimming with the whale shark.
Although only the lucky ones who visit the Riviera Maya during the months of May through September will be able to enjoy this adventure, the truth is that swimming with the largest fish that exists on the planet is an activity that very few will be able to do in their lifetime.
At Exotik Mayan Tours we know this, so we offer our clients the opportunity to live this unique and unforgettable experience.
Having said that, which of these adventure proposals do you prefer?
For more information, do not hesitate to watch the videos we have available of our excursions and to contact us if you have any questions.
We will be happy to advise you to bring out your most adventurous side!
Another of the “Exotik” options is the one that combines the cultural part of the visit to the ruins of Coba with more adventurous activities such as rappelling or zip-lining.
But before this, we will have the opportunity to be “purified” by an authentic shaman from the Mayan community that we will visit in the Punta Laguna reserve.
After feeling like true explorers in the middle of the jungle in search of spider monkeys and howler monkeys, we will demonstrate our adventurous skills in a canoe as we travel through the largest lagoon of the Yucatan Peninsula with almost 90,000 m2 of extension.
But as if this were not enough, the zip lines await us! To feel like real adventurers, this activity cannot be missing in our day of adventure.
After releasing all the adrenaline, we will rappel down to one of the subway cenotes found in this area, without a doubt a unique experience!
The visit to cenotes falls into what we consider “adventure activities” since they combine the more relaxing part, when you have to refresh yourself in their crystalline waters, with the more lively part that involves rappelling down or negotiating the numerous stalactites and stalagmites that we find in their subway waters.
This experience can be lived in all its splendor during the visit to the Cenote Discovery, which, for the more adventurous, can also be combined with a fun-filled quad tour through the Mexican jungle. Two adventure options for the most daring!
